End the use of Shannon for torture flight
In the cases of four men, Abu Omar, Khaled al Maqtari, Khaled el Masri and Binyam Mohamed CIA agents used Shannon Airport as a launching pad for rendition operations.
The Government knows this but it continues to turn a blind eye to what happens at Shannon.
It continues to refuse to search suspected rendition flights, relying instead on diplomatic assurances from the US. In October 2008 the Government set up a Cabinet sub-committee to review the law on searching planes at Shannon but it has never reported.
