FREE DORGELESSE NGUESSAN
YOUR GIFT TODAY COULD HELP THE CAMPAIGN TO DEMAND THAT THE CAMEROON AUTHORITIES RELEASE DORGELESSE NGUESSAN.
In September 2020, hairdresser Dorgelesse was struggling to earn enough to care for her son and her mum, who both have serious health problems. Many others around her in Cameroon were struggling too.
Dorgelesse decided to join a peaceful protest. She’d never done that before. But she felt the time had come to voice her unhappiness publicly. For this, she was arrested, imprisoned and given a five-year sentence. She has spent every day since trapped in a cell.
She is one of 13 cases that feature in this year’s Write for Rights campaign. Every year people like you come together to sign petitions and make donations that help us to demand justice for a selection of people across the world.
Dorgelesse has committed no crime, she was simply exercising her right to have her voice heard. Will you help us lobby the Cameroon government to urgently free Dorgelesse and others who are imprisoned for simply trying to build a better tomorrow?
