The right to work and the right to “just and favourable conditions of work” are
human rights recognised in Articles 6 and 7 of the International Covenant on
Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and Article 27 of the Convention or the
Rights of Persons with Disabilities.1 Work is also a major determinant for good
mental health and for recovery from mental health problems. It is thus
inextricably linked with the human right to the highest attainable standard of
mental health.
